WSOB Students Engage in Online International Learning Opportunity

Students and professors in 道尔顿状态’s Wright School of Business recently had the opportunity to engage in an online international education experience when they collaborated with The Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú-CENTRUM (PUCP), an accredited business school in Lima, 秘鲁.

The opportunity for this cross-cultural education experience was part of an international online program in which professors from the Wright School of Business would teach virtual classes to students in 秘鲁 and PUCP professors would teach virtual classes for students at 道尔顿状态.

Having taught undergraduate management courses at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela, Professor Carolina Hammontree of the Wright School of Business already had roots in South America’s university system, making her the perfect professor to teach in the international program.

2020年秋季, Hammontree taught, 用西班牙语, a virtual class on international business and supply chain to senior business students in 秘鲁. At the same time, Professor Miguel Cordova of PUCP presented a course, “Doing Business in 秘鲁,” to our business students at 道尔顿状态.

The international online program will continue in spring 2021, and Hammontree and Cordova plan on taking the interactive experience a step further by assigning students from both schools a business project. The project will allow 道尔顿状态 and PUCP students to interact and work together online to enhance their global business skills.

“Technology has opened a fantastic window for international education, and the Wright School of Business is using it to enhance the global mindset of our students,” Hammontree said.
